Any tips?
Locations? Flys? I know there are rainbows, I'm guessing some cutties as well. I'm heading off to a "picnic" right next to it. While my wife picnics with her company, I'm going to launch the fishhunter and have at 'er.
Thanks!

Slim pickin's this time of year for either. What you will find is a ton of squaw fish. If you really want to try and get rainbows, then off the cliff face by the log that looks like an aligator and down deep. The lake is only 30-40ft deep and the lake weed is probably getting tall by this time of year. Some more fun can also be had if you fish under the first bridge at the outflow, you can sight fish the squaws. For them any baitfish pattern will usually work. I have a 3wt that makes it fun ;)

I got out last weekend. My boat had a leak :'( so I ended up fishing for about 90 minutes from the fishing dock located at the west end of the lake. I had one on, and a solid hit as soon as the fly hit the water, but none to hand (had tied on a black leech since the bottom was soooo muddy!). The one on appeared to be about a 12-14" pikeminnow or other coarse fish. Meh. REALLY windy. Hooked myself 2x coming forward with the wind ;)
It was fun. Next time gonna have to check the boat BEFORE I head out.
Cheers!

You mean the side where there are no houses on the water? be carefull as kids we were constantly run off the Private beach area ::) if you go to the other side, you will see the areas I mentioned. really check out under the bridge closet to the lake, I bet there a couple hundred in that channel.

Pleasantly my wife's boss owns one of the homes along that stretch, and that is where they were picnicing. (the Park) :)
Once I get that damned hole patched in my boat, I'll have to get out to the other part to have a look.

i was out there sunday staying at a friends cabin and caught a 4 inch rainbow and a 6 inch sqwa, the rainbows aren't that big in that lake but maybe next year that will change because there are so many, they ht my mosquito fly every cast it's just they are too small to hook,

They droped about 500 catchables 10-11in in the lake in the spring, and I have consistently pulled out 10-14in fish every year, the problem right now is the water temp, I seen it get into the 70's every year and the trout just don't like it. Go deep on the far side, by the log, there is also a couple of shallow water spots that they will hang in, but those are my little secrets, be creative and you can find them ;D

i trolled with gear around there and caught only the sqwua, i had a nice hit though so they are probably there, but there used to be bigger ones on the shoals around the cabins around those huge racoon tail weeds, my friend that owns the cabin caught them off a worm and bobber
