Title: Fishing the Squamish
Post by: hickman on July 13, 2007, 11:20:41 AM
Does anyone know or have a guess when the first pinks and chinooks are expected in the Squamish system? The river is still pretty high and silty. Last year around this time first chinooks were caught.
Anyone? 8)

That's what I've been thinking. Cooler temps should clear the river a little bit.
Good luck. Let me know what you find.

The Squamish is very high and muddy! The serious heat wave has the river just screaming. The first chinook are already here but really they should be left alone. The Cheakamus is closed for chinook jacks but the other streams are open. Chinook returns the last few yeras have been just awful. First returns from the CN chemical spill start returning ( or not) this summer.
