My son has just made some crayfish traps. Does anyone know of any good places in the lower mainland for good crayfishing
Thanks

lower vedder, sumas canal, stave, they are all over the place find a spot and try it ;D
-
Go to the Vedder on a hot and sunny day..... looks for a nice shady covered place along the tree banks or under the crossings in the lower river. They seem to like these types of areas.

Go to Maple Ridge park and try the Allouete.

under railway bridge @ stave . com

what do you do with the crayfish anyways?
-
try sasamat lake ;)
-
eat them. Very tasty done up in lemon and garlic butter. Or sturgy bait whichever suits you I guess ;)
-
I remeber when I was a kid a friend and I used to catch them in the Allouette. We would take them to his house and his mom would cook them up for us. They where pretty good.

I ate buckets full of them, when I was a kid back in the late 60's and early 70's. Just boil and eat.

I have heard that they are a nocturnal scavenger , do you have to leave over night or can you catch enough if you leave out for a few hours during the day

Don't really know i always dump it then come back a couple days later ;D
