hi,

Does anybody know what kind of net is best suitable to get smelt from a boat?
And where can I buy it?

Any tackle shop will sell the 25' net. If you want one exceeding 25' you will need to make it yourself.

If you want a net longer than 25ft you will also need a commercial licence . If you really want a longer net my dad got his from Nikka fishing and marine ,they used to be on powell street . You can get lead line ,floats , mesh to build a smelt net .

Unfortunately Nikka on Powell is now closed. Try their store in Richmond.

Was just at the (Nikka) store on the weekend. Great store with a large selection of salt gear, nets and other stuff. wnat to go back for a better look through. Worth it to check it out for sure. Directly across form Steveston Hardware.
