we hit a bait ball last week in 160 feet of water. it started on the bottom and eventually made it all the way to the surface! it was massive. Suprisingly this was on ECVI and not so suprisingly not many fish feeding on it. That pic from barkely?

^ NOPE, IT WAS UP IN WHALE CHANNEL !

We used to see bait balls like that all the time off of victoria and also out of Kelsey bay (south of port hardy). If we were under troll, we would just troll the edges otherwise we would throw buzz bombs through them. When the coho were around, buzzing them was one of my favorite ways of hooking them!

Bro was just up in Camaano Sound and said he seen the biggest bait ball he has ever seen.
Was the size of a football field.
They did very well on the fishing end of things also with his buddy getting the biggest of the trip at 44lbs.
Is Whale Channel in that neck of the woods Bonk?
