Hello,

What size hook would you guys use to troll around for pike minnow at Cultus Lake?

Northern pikeminnow have a pretty big mouth, so the hook size doesn't have to be too small. I've by-caught them on a size 2/0 hook while spinning for salmon in the Fraser River, but a size 1 to 4 would be more suitable. The hook in the photo is size 1.

Good luck at the derby. :)

In Cults size 4.  Rodney is a pro catching those critters in Fraser which is alot bigger than in Cultus.

What BwiBwi said. The average size is smaller at Cultus, because there are so many of them. See the fish in the photo below.

Hey, but big hook gets big fish right? ;D So better use big hooks if you want to win the derby. ;D
