There is a few summer run showing up right now, but not allot
Really? Maybe you could tell us all how to go about catching them. Have you angled for them in the last week? I'd love to be able to fish for them because I have the next 10 days off of work, maybe we can meet up FishFreak.
-
Here, let me get a digital map for everyone and we can all meet at the bible camp first light on Saturday! Sound like a plan gang!!!

Was there again today, I figured I would start at the hatchery water inlet and work down saw a nice chromer right off the bat. Put on some nice roe and voiloa first drift fish on,and landed a beauty 5-6 lb hatchery doe with a small seal bite just behind the dorsal, released continued down river and just before the easter seal run float goes down another fish on this time on a small red seducer egg cluster landed and released another hatchery doe about 7-8 lbs about 3 hours total spent on the river fishing and weather were great. Be back out there tomorrow probably. Sorry no pics fishing by myself as usual. ;D

I havent fished this river, but i heard is small and clear, would your best bet be fishing first thing in the morning? Overcast days, or does it really matter? ???
-
I too was there this morning, didn't see you though. The river sure has dropped, getting ready for summertime low water as usual I suspect.

I'm going to hit the chehalis this weekend & next week...probably frequent it until about the 2nd week of july....springs should be in there pretty soon I would imagine....hows the river level by the hatchery? I heard they apparently diverted it a bit and there was some water going through? true? I have had very little time the past 2 weeks to get up there........ :-\ anyways I probably won't see too many people as I like to bushwack to get to the river ::)
Mike <"))))><
-
Mike i've never seen you, mabey because the chehalis is in your back yard and u know the river better than like 90% of the guys who fish it. good luck.
-
Lots of people starting to make there way over there, make sure to give us back a report. ;)
-
I'll be goin back on sunday. Finish my deck tomorrow and then I am free to fish. ;D

-
I HOOKED 4 TODAY, ONe WaS springrer , IT POPPED OFF
-
anybody want to meet tomorrow for some chehalis action. Just email me
-
Will be there on monday morning, any advice? would starting around the hatchery be a good place to start?
-
I was there today and it was as dead as a doornail, three of us got skunked.
Seriously, wait for the vedder to open, there is still no water going through the hatchery run and the other channel runs into the trees, and is pretty much unfishable...
The chehalis is still a mess. I'd wait for better options, and save the money on gas...
:(

I concur with you Nicole as I was out checking the water level on both rivers.
Its such a shame to see the Chehalis turned into such a pitiful river. I remember during its glorious days, we were into multiple hookups of steelhead, cohos were plentiful and the reds may be low but we were hooking them consistently during July. The hatchery doesn't seem too concern with the water level. I see people working around the hatchery area feeding the smolts but if the water is so low, how can they return????
I think if the Vedder drops a couple feet more, the river would be in perfect condition for July.
-
Nice to know Cam.
-
tell me about it, i only fish the canyon when I go, because there are no other options.
