Now those are some monsters.  Well done.  Nothing like that around here   :'(
You don't have to tell where you fish, but do you mind filling me in on some of the life history of the fish and your favorite technique.  Do you mainly fish at night?  How deep, what kind of lure, what size lake are they hanging out in and how do they get so freakin' big?

Those fish are from Lake Defenbaker Saskatchewan. They are escapees from the fish farm operations.

but what do these fish eat to grow to massie sizes like that, if they escape when they are small, they need to feed on something to get that huge

I'll elaborate on what I've said before. Those fish are escapees from the fish farms. As farmed fish they are triploided to increase growth rates and to avoid them turning into unedible boots. This coupled with the fact that they are able to sit under the pens and eat the left over pellets enables them to reach such unnatural proportions.

Whoa, whoa. Not my fish. Just posting a link. I wish I caught those. Triploids or not, those are some beastly fish. I appreciate his desire to get the world record (triploid or not). He has caught some other lunkers too, not just that one. I saw the link in another report on another fishing site and thought I would share..... :)

One of these....this fish would be the trout equivelent to a mid November Stave River Chum  :-X
