Hi,
I'm headed up to Whistler next weekend and was wondering if anyone could recommend some good fishing locations near Whistler or Pemberton. I don't have a float tube or boat so will most likely be fishing from shore. If anyone could recommend a fishing lodge near Pemberton that rent boats as well that would be appreciated. I'm not too familiar with the area so I'm not sure if there are any up that way.
Thanks!!

Alta Lake in Whistler maybe a good option for you. Although it is much more advantageous to be fishing on a boat in this lake, there is a spot where you can access from shore with some success. The floating dock at Lakeside Park in Alta Vista has deep water around it, therefore you can definitely catch fish from it as I have observed in the past.
Few things to note about the lake. It's a total catch and release lake and you cannot use bait. If you are not flyfishing, small spinners and spoons can definitely entice a fish or two. There are two target gamefish species available - rainbow trout and cutthroat trout. The rainbow trout range between 12 and 16 inches in length, while the cutthroat trout can be slightly bigger than that.
For other fishing locations around the area, drop by Pacific Angler in Vancouver (http://www.pacificangler.ca/). The staff there are all experienced fresh and saltwater fishermen from around here so they would know a few spots for you to choose.
