Title: Trout fishing in the Queen Charlottee Islands
Post by: deepcovehooker on May 18, 2007, 07:13:55 PM
I am heading up to the Queen Charlottee Islands for business next week.  Plan on 2 days of trout fishing :D .  Can anyone give me some advice on which lakes or rivers to fish?  Should I take my chest waders with me or can I fish by boat or from shore up there?    ???

What part of OCI are you going to be in?

I would go with a guide out of Port Clements (i can email you an amazing guide) and fish the Yakoun. Or if i was staying in Masset i would venture out to the Sangan and try my luck. Beautiful part of the world your  a lucky dog. Do you have a rental car or access to a vechicle? It's pricey up there.

Another thing... I would go with a guide as it's a remote area and the trees are very dense and I'm sure its really easy for a city slicker to go missing for days. The rivers tend to be more suited for the spey rod or cast as the bush often comes up to the river bank.... Chest waders are a must...

Be nice if you could post a report when you come back.  I'm envious.
