Post by: island boy on February 19, 2007, 08:38:32 PM
has anyone fished the small pond on the way to hicks lake? just read an article on fishing small ponds and just wondered if anyone has tossed a fly in there or not.

I used to fish there a quite awhile ago. Biggest cutt was 19" on an emerger pattern, I think. Haven't fished there for a long time. Was always productive to me, but mainly smallish cutts.

Does anyone know when this park will be opened, i went last weekend figuring Deer lake was open as it has always been left open all year round.  But too my dismay the entire park was gated, hicks used to have a separate gate, maybe they had too many problems this past winter, a few years back somebody chainsawed the tables for wood.

Probalby windfall from the storms. :(

Any word on the gate?  I would like to get out tom.

Also, any word on the conditions on the morris valley road.  Can you get into weaver/wolf.  I was sorry to see all the logging going on around there two years ago.  It was difficult to get access back then.  Any change?
