Got another late start today. Arrived at the river around 1:30 PM. Started off where I hooked my steelhead 3 days ago. Once again, the run was empty of fishermen. Air and water temperatures were 43 and 38 degrees respectively. Decided to start with a roe bag with my secret sauce. Switched over to a prawn after 15 minutes. After trying that for 10 minutes I switched back to a roe bag. As my float drifted down to the tailout I noticed a subtle movement of my float. I set the hook and Fish On ! It was not the steelhead I was seeking but a nice rainbow. I thought about keeping it but decided to let it go. I rigged on another roe bag and 10 minutes later I hooked a steelhead from almost the same spot. It took a couple of jumps and threw the hook. :'( After that I covered a few more runs before making the long drive home. Nice day all around.

Sounds like a nice day to be out, to bad about losing it but at least you got one on. What was the water like?

what ever the vedder's like, the lower is pretty dirty and upper is clear. Deciding whether to go or not has been no problem, because i got no ride cus pops doesn't wanna fish with a gong show and with not alot of vis. I my self would be out everyday but thats just me. ;D All we can do is hope for a cold snap to lower and clear the river a little, or fish somewhere else. If not well then u got to find a new winter hobby.
