Got out with Winter steel today and conditions were really good. It was high overcast with only a half hour sprinkle in the morning. 3 ft visibility in the mid river made us pretty confident. W.S. got a nice hatchery chromer around 10:30am and just when he thought it was his for sure it spit the hook just when a helpfull guy was reaching for it at shore. We stopped at a hole that we've been passing up till now, and we noticed its become a great spot. After 5 min there my float shot down and I had a good sized steel on, it gave me some strong head shakes and as it was showing itself thrashing on the surface it spit the hook! >:(
Last stop was at Lickman, no luck there but I did finally meet Chris Gadsen. ( yes he's still around) he said he has been busy lately so not out fishing much. he was out scouting the river though so I think we can expect a report here soon. ;D BP

Too bad guys lost those fish. Those are the breaks though.
Also nice to hear that Chris is back out on the river. I think people around here are going nutty without 'the journal'
