Tryed it for the first time this week and it's cool how it turns gold in the sun. very nice ;D
But does it work? I have not caught anything :(

My experience with Vanish has not been favourable. Too brittle for my liking.
-
Only used it this last summer for lighter line applications like bass & walleye. seemed to work fine. Didn't blow me away, but it worked fine.

The worst stuff berkley has come out with.... >:(
Mike <")))))><

I tried that line and I was not impressed at all , very brittle ... gave no confidence !! the whole time I was using it I was afraid of losing my fish, like Freak said JUNK!!!

I don't know what you guys mean by brittle. My hook got snagged so I pulled hard and the line would no give. Almost went right through my finger. It took a good 5 minutes to break the line and when it did break the line was frizzled at the end but I guess I should have used sccissiors. I though it was way too strong. I used maxima utragreen before and when snagged I have not had much trouble pulling and breaking the line. But I only have had 1 day of experience with it ::)

piranha..... just trust all of us here, its very brittle..... mite seem alrite then you hook a fish on it and 3 headshakes and hes gone...... dont let the crap ruin your day!

ditto... ditto... ditto
berkley makes some fine products but...... Vanish has never been one of em in my opinion.
Maxima is THE line most guys use and for very good reason. Hard to beat it for abrasion resistance and the bit of stretch it has... which in turn produces nice solid hooksets. I have switched to Pline recently for main line and i rely heavily on thier CFX leader material.... I prolly won't go back to maxima except for saltwater fishing. Berkley BigGame and the new Berkley MAXX are both excellent lines as well..... i say stay away from the vanish

best fluorocarbon to use is Seaguar. They invented the stuff and by far and away make the best fluorocarbon products on thew market.
-
I have really been liking P-line's products, the 'flouroclear' is a co-polymer with a flouro coating, nice and thin and limp, no memory, and ties nice knots.
The CFX xtra-strong is very much like Ultragreen.
The CFX pure flouro is nice as well, i use that for leaders now.
Used to be a die hard Maxima man, but dislike that Maxima doesn't put line diameter on the packaging, also they short you a bit on the spools compared to others.

Used "vanish" once. It is named "vanish" because the fish vanishes as your leader breaks. It's junk.

I agree, vanish did not give me much confidence after watching my $5 croc snap off in the top of my cast, the croc did hit the seam I was after, but without line ;D
