Just got a new Warrior Dolomite in the grip. So far, it's awesome. Has anyone else owned one of these? I've played with it a couple times now and it seems a little overly scuffed and knicked compared to how my other sticks have worn. Anyone else with this experience?
-
Scored 3 goals last night. No better stick made.
-
you sure it was the stick....and not the goalie?? :D :D :D :D

We're supposed to have goalies?
Actually, it's hands down the lightest and most sensitive stick I've ever felt. Lighter than sticks $100 more even. I am having nightmares that this one will break on me. No reason to believe that it will, but I don't know anyone else with one.

I just got one as well. Nicest feeling stick I've ever used. What curve did you get? I got a smyth, which was closest to my usual curve (yzerman). Only complaint I can think of right now is that I prefer a square toe, but now I'm just being nit picky.
-
hmmm...last stick I owned was $12 at Crappy Tire...2 pc wooden stick....used it to enforce rules around the house with my 2 girls...worked like a charm...;)))

Got the Draper curve. Good for close wristers, can put it in the top shelf without any work. Don't take many slap shots, so it works great for me.

You'd probably have better luck with a phone book. :o

So hows your new lumber holding up?
I just played my first two games with mine. I scored in my first game with the new twig, one timer right off the face off. This stick it like a sling shot. By far the best stick that I have ever played with.
-
Good to see mojoman with the Leafs logo back up and running too.
-
I still love it. My wife also plays, and she ended up steeling my stick cause she likes it so much. So, I ended up buying a Warrior Mac Daddy. To tell you the truth, I can't really the difference between the Dolomite and the Mac Daddy. I love them both and don't think I'll ever play with another stick, until the next model comes out.
-
Well, my one piece is now a two piece. :-[ :'(
I was fooling around the other day and took a snap shot off the toe of my stick and the blade cracked straight down the middle. I couldn't believe it.
So the next question is: what blade do I get to replace it with. I could get another dolemite but I'm also considering a synthesis (I like the Easton curve better).
Anyone have experience with a synthesis or any other tapered blades?
-
Never played with one, but they're also a very light stick. If you wanted to stick with Warrior, You could always go with a Mac Daddy or the newest model, the Kronik. You could always try to take your stick back and see if they'll warranty it. It sounds like a weird brake, so you might be able to sell it as defective.
-
I brought it back but they wouldn't warrenty it, 30 day warrenty is a 30 day warrenty. They also didn't have any warrior blades in stock so I picked up a synthesis 2 blade for $45, which is dirt cheap for that blade. Got home cut off the blade on the warrior only to find the hossel of the old bladed epoxyed into the shaft. D'oh, I knew it was a fused two piece but for some reason didn't forsee this problem. Anyways, I had to cut off another 2 inches to clear the old hossel put in the new blade and crossed my fingers I wasn't altering the kick point too much. Two goals last game say I didn't. ;D
-
good to know. I hope don't break my stick too soon. However, I don't have much of a thundering shot (still working on it), so I'm probably more likely to break my stick from blocking people's shots.
-
I don't think you'll have that problem with the Mac Daddy, its a 'true one piece'. Actually had I thought it out a little better I would have either spent the extra money to get a Mac Daddy (if you can chop off the blade and not have to worry about the hossel) or I would have got the two piece dolemite.

I believe the guys who came up with the Easton Stealth which is also a great stick, went out on there own and started making Warriors. They are awesome stick. The only thing I notice is that after a while they really start to get soft and lose there stiffness just above the blade. I like how the grip is on the Warrior, compared to the Easton sticks with the grip feature, the texture is rough not sticky like the other sticks.
-
I completely agree with you about the grip. Simply put its awesome ;D
As for the company, it is owned by New Balance. They bought out Innovative sticks and marketed them under their own label. Innovative is a few years old so I doubt it was the stealth guys behind it but it could have been the guys who designed some of the older synergys.
-
Your right! I got the stealth and the synergys mixed up. A couple of my buds in the NHL just switched over to the Warriors, so I've been getting them for free. Good deal for me.
-
Just went to re-tape my blade and found out that it's busted. :'( :'( That probably explains the lack of power I had yesterday. It has a crack running all along the sole from the toe clear past the heel of the blade. As far as I know, the crack delaminated the entire blade. I've never heard of a blade breaking like that. I'll try to contact Warrior and find out.
-
Does Cliff Ronning have anthing to do with these sticks ?
-
Don't know the guy, kinda new to hockey. But I can tell you that I'm the only one where I live with one of these sticks. Most of the players I know are always asking me about it. The guys all asked me why I showed up with my Easton stick tonight. Several of them were lined up to buy a Warrior next year, but not anymore. Unfortunately for some folks, word travels fast.
-
Your stick should be covered under warranty right. If not, it helps to become buddy's with someone at a sports shop because they can always make the warranty happen.
-
Don't know anyone at a shop. The warranty says 30 days. I emailed Warrior, but don't know if they'll do anything. I'll keep you posted. In the mean time, it gives me an excuse to buy an Easton Stealth. I'm thinking the Sakik is the closest thing to the Draper.
-
You a lefty or a righty? How old is the twig?
-
righty, it's about 2.5 months old, but I only average 1.5 times a week with it playing co-ed drop in.
-
If you don't know anybody at a sporting goods shop, I would buy the same kind of Warrior that you have so you have the receipt. I about 3 weeks I would bring your old stick in with your new receipt and get a new stick. This should work because 2.5 months compared to a month is not that much, they won't know the difference, if they ask just say you played a lot this month.
-
good advice. I'll do that. The new one I buy, I'll give to my wife for her 2nd stick, and the new one that they give me in exchange, I'll sell on Ebay to re-coup some of my $$. Then I'll buy either a new Kronik, Easton Stealth or Reebok sick kick. Any news on how well the Easton's and Reebok's hold up?
-
I've used Easton's for a while, they seem to last the longest. As a whole I think that they all don't last as long as older sticks did. They seem to get soft, kind of like you experienced when your blade was cracked. I know soon as you get a little nick in the shaft or blade your chances of breaking them goes way up.
-
I'm getting my stick this weekend. I'm debating the stealth, synergy Vapor XXX or Kronik. I am a little gunshy going back to the Warrior however. I used the Stealth and Vapor XXX the last 2 nights and liked them both. Anyone know anything about the new synergy's? I might just end up with the one that's the right curve.
-
I've used all 3, the one I'm using now is the Vapor XXX, to me they basically all feel the same so I would take your own advise and go with the pattern you like. I make my choices on what my buddies give me, I like them all. The differences between them are minimal and if your new to the game it's not going to made a difference.

Ended up with the 2007 Easton Stealth CNT Grip with the Sakik and the 85 flex. I'm pumped to try it out. It cost me a pretty penny, so hopefully it doesn't realize the same fate as the Warrior.
-
An 85 flex seems a little light. How big are you?

It doesn't really matter how big you are I think its all personal preference. You would be really surprised at the number of guys that use 85 flex, Bret Hull when he played, Lupul, Kunitz, Perry, and Pronger all use 85 flex and there all big guys.
Its all tecnique when it comes to shooting, plus the more flex you have the better the feel of the stick I think.
-
I'm only 5'7" and 155lbs, so I don't have much leverage on the stick to really flex it and load it up.

That's great, the Stealth is a great weapon! Have fun with those one timers in the slot.

Bentrod have you used the Stealth yet?
-
I really like the stick so far. I used it last night and tonight. Scored once and clanked the post twice. The stick has a softer feel on the puck and so far has fared better than my old Warrior. Only a couple scuffs, compared to chips on the Warrior after one game.
