Title: Trophy XL - "Royale"
Post by: c-pin on December 18, 2006, 02:58:47 PM
I was thinking of buying a new Trophy XL "Royale" in a Centrepin. It is 11'3" and rated 8-17lb. I have a chance of getting one at a good price. It will be my "back-up" to my Sages.

Anyone use one of these? I'd like your opinion.

Held one at reaction, they sure do feel good, id buy it as a back up rod for sure. Another good rod is the temple fork cp 3113. Ive tested that one, and its a beuty as well.

2-6lb 13 foot noodle. It was like a bull whip.

Hi John,I did talked to Brain Ford at westcoast tackle. He said the trophy royale is a bit stiffer and  more backbone than the sage 3113mb(brown blank). And it come with lifetime warranty.

Been fishing the temple fork cp3113 hard for 2 years now, not a worry, I am very impressed with the rod.
Mind you mind is the original brown blank, if that makes a difference. this rod has battled springs and stealhead without a worry.

any ideas where one can buy a TFO CP-3113?  i have felt the TFO C3113 <baitcasting trigger> and it gets me quite excited, pay day it will be coming home with me. i have felt the trophy xl royale and boy oh boy is she ever stiff. i find it similar to a pool cue with guides, but the question i have is who sells TFO rods? i am wanting to get it local but might have to order it online.

If you really dont want to order online then this should help you as well as I am sure a few of these stores would order in what you are wanting......some very good deals to be had online as well though...just my opinion.

Planning on one of these below as a backup to a sage 3106CT......both baitcaster/trigger types
