I use a Mustang inflatable vest, planty of pockets, and the security if I go under, I stand a bit more of a chance of coming back up.

Another vote for the Compleat Angler. I've had mine for over 10 years and still in good shape.

I saw Rick 2 weeks ago. Talked alot about history and his products. Did you know less then 2 dozen of his pintail vests were made. Funny the same day before he comes in my work, we find one in the back That didn't know was there. :o

Back to the vests. Pioneer makes a decent durable vest. I find it too heavy though. Ive got a custom made vest similar to the Fernhills, they are excellent.

question is though.... is rick still able to make the vests.... 2 years ago he halted production due to not enough start up cash or something.... My previous employer put up the funds for materials to get thier last order made.... that was 2 years ago and most of those vests sold like hot cakes. I've got the one i use now and a brand spankin new one in storage till this one begins to fail me, but 4 seasons in... it's still virtually like new.
If anyone hears that rick is still making the vests, please contact me at steveston marine vancouver... I'd be happy to see our stores stock his product.

Talking about compleat angler is Rick Woods still around, does anyone know ? I used to buy all my blanks and rod componets off him. I used to have his home # but lost it years ago..

Try (604) 879-8033. That was the number of his warehouse.
