Title: Chapman Creek - Sunshine Coast
Post by: Chuck23 on November 17, 2006, 10:17:27 AM
Have any of you fished up there B4?  I'm heading up tonight and I have heard that the mouth is a good place for Coho and Chum.  Does anyone know where to find resources on Sunshine Coast Fishing??  I think I'll be using spoons/spinners made by Rod.  Any advice or experiences up there is appreciated!

hehe
we used to take our float tubes to the mouth of chapman and anchor just off shore and just out of the flow of the creek. We would use our 8 wt flyrods with clear sink lines and small live herring. This was about 8 or 9 years ago when one could find live herring at some of the marinas, awesome fishing some days.
I would recomend vibrax and crocs down at the mouth, never fished the river itself but i bet a float drifted # 3 or #4 colorado in hammered silver would get some coho action if they are present. Not sure where on the sunshine coast you can get info, maybe call the roberts creek hatchery, they will know what's up over there.
