started out lwer rvr no water saw guys fishing in 2' of water,for spotted chum, i geuss guys are getting desperate to catch something. i figure if they wait till next week end and if the rains still keep coming, there will be water across the road, and they can fish from there trucks.ha ha ha . anyways talked to a few guys no hos around, this has probabley been my worst year yet

You must be trying to fish the hatchery channel!
Sometimes, if you want to find the fish, you need to move around a bit and do some searching:

For the record, I am quite certain that any good fishing spots today would be blown out on most systems,

hey dano, thanks for the advice ive actually fished the chehalis for 18 years . just wondering how much exploring you do besides the run your sitting in in the canyon. if you want some advice, when the river is blown out , the best place to fish it is in the canyon, casting about three feet in front of you, . also i dont fish by the hatchery, the reason there is no water going by the hatch, is because, the easter seal run is now lower than the flow giong to the hatchery. this happened 2or 3 days ago, if a person feels like exploring there are some great pools further down in the trees.

Sorry if I implied you were not doing things right there, KO.
From your brief description, I had assumed you had headed out of the vehicle, started at the hatchery, then walked down from there, looking for water to fish.
My brief knowledge of fluvial geography and river morphology suggest to me that (due to the river grade and shape by the Easter Seal run), the river will never truely run down the hatchery way again until it runs it's course through the South branches and then, gradient and erosion will dictate it move back North again. Lots of time, money, and repair can be spent trying to make the river run back to the hatchery, buy you cannot force your "vision" onto nature.
I get around and travel, both up and down.
Good thing about the canyon is it does not really matter if you show a picture, as all of the areas look the same.
I hear guys say "I know your spot, will head there ASAP" all the time.
Truth of the matter is, I head up there a lot and even when I look at photos, have a hard time telling where the guy is. Well, most of the time, it is really impossible to pinpoint where exactly the spots are. Sorry for those of you always trying to guess, but most mossy rocks, cliffs, and runs usually look all the same.

the point of fishing out of the truck is if you have ever seen the river been so high that the water actually will be on the road and chum will be swimming across the road, so the post was about guys fishing water where only spotted chum are. so if thats what guys want to fish for they can wait for the water to rise on the road and fish out of there trucks
