Hit the Squish today, even though it was coming up fast. The water was chocolate brown, and lots of debris (logs), buckets, barrels and every other thing you could imagine floating down the middle of the river. The logjams up on the bank opposite me were even breaking loose with the logs heading downstream. The drops of rain were about the size of a 5 gallon bucket, so it was questionable who was wetter, the fish or me.
The result was one of the best days of fishing I have had for a looong time. ;D ;D The Chum were in huge numbers, and all hugging the shore. They were big and bright, and I had one on-line on average about once every 5 casts. Most were caught in the mouth, although if you let the drift swing too far you would end up snagging fish. So the drift had to be short & in front of you. I even landed a nice fat 10-12 lb hatchery Coho (released it). Short floating, with short leader and any colour of wool you wanted proved effective. I would've hated to try chuckin a blade as you will hang up on every stick and piece of wood screaming past you, and you would likely have snagged one heck of a lot of fish.
The water came up about 18" in the few hours I was there, and the river turned even darker and uglier. Fishing still did not slow down.
What a blast, even though I was expecting to have wasted a drive up the Sea-to-Sky. ;D

I was at a highly secret spot that I am sure no one ever heard about 8). The guys at River Edge suggested it, and when I arrived there were about 30 trucks in the parking lot - so much for the secret ::). It was off Judd Road on Brennan Street - but don't tell anybody, there is only room for 31 trucks. ;)

I must have been fishing beside you. It certainly was good. My buddy, on his fly rod, must have hooked into over 50 fish, and landed about half. He was using a very small trout fly, about a size 6 or 8 hook. Lots of fun, if you don't mind fishing in chocolate milk, with 4" visibility. I was supposed to head out to the Stave or the Harrison with another buddy - the subject of a different thread, but he bailed and I did a change in plans. Just goes to show you that using common sense doesn't always make the best fishing day. :D
