got to the Stave up below the dam and nobody there, only me and a Heron on the far bank.

I fished a gold hammered kroc on 10Lb test with a shimano spinning reel and my old 9ft salmon rod from the UK.

nothing for about an hour then BAM !!! hooked into something that ran off down river like a steam train.

Soon after I had a second Chum, both hooked clean in the mouth.  By 9am it was raining hard and the snaggers had started to appear so I picked up a bag of rubbish and old fishing line and headded for home.

BTW GoFish,  next time I will take that tub of roe you gave me and try some short floating  ;D ;D ;D

Nice chum.  Water still looks good there because of the power dam.

In have fished the Stave five or 6 times this year and have yet to see a Coho caught.  I have talked to guys that have picked up one here and there, but you really have to work hard for your fish. There are lots of dark springs around and the odd clean one.

Thank goodness for chum.  At least they keep things interestin.

I saw one coho doe pulled from the toiletbowl yesterday, looked clean and silver but not that big.

As soon as the man from Shaw comes to fix my internet (should be 8meg but only getting 500K) I will be back out again.
