spent the day in and around Squamish, unbelievable fishing till noon. ;D ;D ;D I do not like to be the bearer of bad news, >:( but if you were planning on a trip to that system tomorrow, you would be wise to reconsider. conditions deteriorated after noon, and by 3:00 pm., the Cheekeye had blown out, and taken the lower Cheakamus with it. conditions deteriorated on the Squamish as well, and as I left at about 3:30pm, the Mamquam was blown out as well. this would take out a couple of the best spots on the river, the mouth of the Mamquam, and Judd road. rain really started to come down hard at 3:00pm.

:( but we need it. This will certainly get more fish into the system

Anyone know how fast the Squamish will take to get back into shape... if the rain stops as predicted? ???

given that it's 2 of the smaller rivers that are causing the problems, and they are forecasting the weather to cool off markedly over the next couple of days, I would guess that by Sunday it should be in prime shape. you can also check with river's edge, 604-898-5656. I find that they're very willing to help, and in fact, I would call them with no hesitation any time you want info. in return, i usually stop into the shop, and pick up a little gear. It's fairly priced, and it's nice to have a shop in Squamish :)

I was planning on going Saturday. Guess I will have to make the phone call on Friday to find out.
