The flash tape ones are new, just came out last month. ;D Glad you got them safely BS. ;) I'm excited to see how the copper/gold blade ones do. :) With the water clarity that good in the Fraser, they should do very well in a month from now. :D

Tie spoon or spinner to the end of your line.
Cast lure into the river.
Retrieve a various speeds.
Repeat as necessary til you catch a fish.
Hope this helps you Big Steel  ;D
Thanks!! ;D ;D ;D

Yes it would work. I was using that setup for pinks last year.

Possibly, when more fish arrive. ;) Maybe we should have a Tidal Fraser Fish-out/demo, but it seems like fisherforever has already covered it quite nicely. ;D

will the 2106 be light enough to cast spoons?

Yes, I use a Stryker Rainshadow IST 1263F, which is very similar to a 2106. I cast the spoon with 12lb test Maxima from a Shimano low profile baitcasting reel. I do this in rivers (not the Fraser, smaller systems) and do quite well with coho at tailouts etc. Most of the time the males slam the spoon instead of the female. The way I fish it isn't necessarily by retrieving, but simply holding the spoon back and let it flutter as it drifts downstream.

On the tidal Fraser, where current is almost absent, I use a light spinning rod for both the spoons and spinners. 8lb test Maxima, on a Shimano 2500 spinning reel. The rod is a Fenwick HMX spinning rod, rated 4 to 10lb. This has worked well over the years for pink, coho, chum and bull trout around Richmond.

Still lots. ;) Don't want to turn this into a buy and sell thread, so:

steel, rodney,
I have a business making and selling premium spinners also.  I could use either of you to do some product testing.  I'll be up there in the middle of October this year.  Interested?  I'll comp you some if you like.

I fish...

Rod, do you use a float while fishing spoons and spinners in the vedder and squish?

I always use it without a float. Lure to main line directly. Slow retrieve while it swings across the river.

I have hooked 6 fish the last three trips on your Spoons Rodney, but the only thing landed was a Spring on the gold Spinner!  I will try them again on Friday! :) ;D
