With only an hour to spare, we decided to head down to Garry Point Park and spincast for northern pikeminnow. I also wanted to try out some new spinners (http://www.fishingwithrod.com/albums/gear/spinners2.jpg) that I have made up last week. Usually the pink coloured lures work quite well this time of the year in the Tidal Fraser River, so both Nina and I decided to test out the pink blade ones. ;)
By the end of the outing, I had nothing to show. ::) Nina managed to tag a medium-sized northern pikeminnow that took quite a bit of line out on the Shimano Stradic 1000 initially. ;)

So the pink blade ones work. ;) I look forward to try them out for coho salmon when they start passing by here in October. ;)
Water clarity is surprisingly good compared to last week. With the sunshine, visibility was easily over 3 feet today, more than enough for anyone who wishes to spincast for salmon. :)

If you put the tape on the back of the blade you'll do much better.
Also Please crimp the barbs on your hooks-children surf this site and we don't want to give them the wrong impression.

understand where your coming from sam, but he cant do everything :-\. think about how much more time it takes for him to pinch down all the barbs. im sure hes busy enough running this site! :o ;)

Plus if someone buys them from out of the immediate area, barbs might be legal to use on the hooks. Gotta keep all the options open.
