we smoked em today boys...its all about timing the comercial holes and my host knew exactly where to go! 6 rods yeilded 12 socs and 1 spring, pretty much everyone on the bar we were at limited out. I had my 2 in about 45-60 min. Biggest was in the 9lb range. lots of net marked fish but good number of pristine ones as well.
Thanks for the outing GF...let me know next time you're out!

Just got home from evening fishing out near hope. Me and a buddy got our 4 soxs in about 2.5 hours. 3 got away, and one we released cause we dragged it in by the tail.
A fun night!

Lots of fish being caught where we were! I guess I don't know what good or poor is but it looked pretty good to me. Brother and I had limits by 7am. Had several others on. ;D

Fishing was great today! got my limit, and hooked into 10 fish ;D

"Fishing was great today! got my limit, and hooked into 10 fish" I hope you lost 8 fish or handed the rod off. Catch and release on the fraser is a bad idea, once your party has their bag limit, you should pack it in. Snagging these fish and then releasing them can not be good for their chances of making it back to their rivers to spawn which is why C&R on the fraser is B*** S***.
Anyone remember the kreel counter (is that the right term) asking you how many socs you released in a day? DFO doesn't want to see socs being released willy nilly and I would put money on the fact that DFO factors a mortality rate into those C&R fish...guess what all you sockeye heros, that comes of the sports anglers quota and that equates to earlier closures...will people even truly get???

:o :o wow sounds like i should have gone out this morning after all. way to go guys 8) 8)

Yup handed off 5 of them

Well done boys. I fished yesterday and today in the Chilliwack area (not pegleg) as I managed to get a couple of days off. Yesterday was quite good - as my buddy and I limited out by 8:30 AM. Everyone on that bar seemed to get their limit also. ;)
Today was much slower with only one fish landed between us. Must have gotten "sucked into" the commercial vacuum! ;D Bye the way - today, were you guys fishing the Hope area (BigFisher, big guy)? I thought about heading up - but figured it would be slow as well. Maybe not! I have a feeling that this weekend will pick up! Too bad I can't go! :'(

do you hand the rod off when you fish stealhead or coho
-
right on the money Gooey, let your party get its limit of sockeye, and then get the hell out of there! Who cares if you hand off or not, but don't screw the sockeye run up anymore by killing another 1/2 dozen fish by releasing them after winching them in with the snagging rigs. Gooey put on practically a sockeye clinic the other day when he was out with us, hooking most of the fish for the group, but the instant we all brought in our limit there wasn't even a discussion- time to go

Magician, was fishing the Hope area! It is so much easier for me! Have had lots of success!
