Title: Campbell River Aug 5/6
Post by: Hiker on August 07, 2006, 11:20:05 PM
Been trying to get into some pinks in the river itself, but they were too lip closed. Only have seen 3 fish in total caught and released in two days. That was by fly fisherman. So many risers, but frustrating no biters. Drove around quite a bit and seen a big portion of Island around Campbell River. Oyster river looked fish empty, but a lot of swimmers.

Waiting on a ferry in Nanaimo, I have vitnessed a very weird way of fishing that really produced. There was this guy with a kid, who pulls out a rod, put some ginger from their just finished sushi box, and catches I believe some type of rock fish in a minute. After that he got few more bites, but lost all of his ginger soon, as I guess it doesn't hold on hook. Ginger works!!! :)
