Bailed from work at 1200 on 08-03. On the river at 1330. Finshed 2nd sock at 1730. Sox to springs were about 3-1. Good spots on the bar and bad. About 80 out at max time. Nice to watch the buzzards sailing, and the osprey that continued to hang just above us while we fished. It hung in the air on the swift currents. I wish I had had my good camera, but it doesn't go out fishing with me (some little issue about "water") >:(
Slept in the truck overnight (no point in wasting gas going home). Found out that people stay in the area until 2300 ::) Then peace and quite for sleeping until the first car pulls into the lot at 0230!!! :o :o Then a few more at 0330.
08-04: 0430, my alarm goes off, and I slip on the trunks, wool socks, and wading boots, and head out to the bar. You've got to get your package wet if you don't want to get swept away in the fast water :( Saw a few people take short swims last night. :'( I set up where I want to be, and by 0600, I'm into a fish. Pop at the beach. Damn. Next two come in and in the cooler by 0930. A bit slower than 08-03 for most on the bar. Definitely less springs.
Back home, shower, and off to work in time for the afternoon.
4 fish with one "work day" off, and only ONE $40 round trip gas cost.

330am! Craaaaazy nutters, they're only sockeye! Jeez you can roll out there at 5pm and limit out in an hour, why bother getting out that early?
Glad to see you hooked up...

My thoughts exactly. ::) Especially when I'm trying to SLEEP.
It was really nice to fish next to guys that weren't pscho or anything. They even seemed pretty easy going despite the fact that a guy 6 below us was short casting upriver and catching us all too frequently. Very good atmosphere.
I did learn a VERY important lesson - Don't put the 20 pack of timbits in the cooler with the ice. Soggy timbits SUCK :'(

thanks for the report DS, did u snap any photos?
-
Sorry - no photos. I'm pretty OCD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OCD) about casting once I get in the groove ;)

i don't know why some of you guys even read threads like this if your gonna make trouble with all your flossing/snagging talk.
if you dont like it dont read it.

Yes, if that was the technique DS used, then all of those were definitely hooked on the back. ;D
