Was set to start off the day early enough at 7am but fell back asleep and didn't leave my place until around 9:45am. Finally on the Highway after loading up my gear and arrived at my spot around 11:30. Got my gear rigged up and started fishing. It wasn't very long before I set the hook hard into a fish and FISH ON!!!! The fish peels down river then shoots up. It doesnt feel very big but how would I know it was moving so fast. ;D I get the fish close to shore and another fisherman offers his assistance and I slip the 25lbs Red Chinook into his net. Quickly pull the gills, snap a pic, clean the fish and it's back home to the city of heat. I love days where you spend more time driving then fishing. 8)

Nicely done TS. 5 of us spent about 8 hours on Maple Leaf Bar #2 and we picked up one spring and lost another.Visibility was just wonderful. We saw a boat anchored above us lose three as well. The only time my bell tolled was when a fish ran into my line. :o
On return to the launch the girl doing the creel survey had checked 9 springs in about 3 hours into her shift. All but one caught bar fishing. ;D She said 1 in 4 anglers she checked had a fish in the ice chest.
The most exciting part of the day was when we stopped at a marine shop and police were everywhere.
Apparently someone tried to steal a generator in broad daylight, even had it loaded in the vehicle. When apprehended by a store employee a knife was seen, 911 was called. Police arrived with tracking dog in tow and fellow was tracked down hiding in a creek. We noticed one female was soaking wet as I guess she had to chase the chap down the creek. ;D ::)
Another day in our once quiet village of Chilliwack. Maybe it is time to move North to escape the encroachment of big city crime. :(
