Title: Free to challange boating licence
Post by: rivan on June 25, 2006, 12:18:16 PM
I was going to the local Canadian Tire store yesterday to get a couple things for around the house when I saw in the parking lot a tent set up and they weren't selling hotdogs....no...the sign read challange the boating exam free (only pay if you pass).

So I thought to myself.......what have I got to lose?....did the exam and found that just using common sense is all you really need to be able to get yourself a boating licence.  I had little knowlege of what all the rules of the meaning of stand-on vessel and give way vessel were.  I know a lot of people protesting the boaters licencing program because they dont want to be bothered with having to proove they actualy know how to safely opperate a watercraft.  After completing and passing the test (with out any studying), I found the test fairly simple and encourage anyone that is thinking of getting the boaters licence, to just go ahead and get it, it was EASY.

Now all I need is a boat :'(
