Hi fishers, sorry to bore you all with reports of the bow river. ;D
So heres the run down. I decided to leave work early, so I had my lunch break and then headed home. I was supposed to meet up with a couple of buddies for some pike fishing, which involves wading a pretty smelly lake, but one guy was too hard to get hold of, so we went south of calgary and fished for trout instead.
This is the spot. Pretty ain't it?

Basically, I had heard that the day before was insane (one person told me he had his best day ever on the river using various nymphs)... Strange how it can change so drastically on 24 hours. :D The fish were not interested in any of my stones or caddis, and my buddy only had 2 hits for a long while and none landed. Of course the whole time there was a huge hatch of pale morning duns going on, and it took me about an hour to clue in and look for rising fish.
Here's the first riser I saw.

A few fish later, I got this scrappy little fellow, which I suspect was a cut-bow.

Anyhow, the day went on until night and I only got home a few hours ago... The fish of the day was a 22.5 rainbow sipping PMDs beside a cliff... This was a real pain to cast to because of cliff on onside with overhanging shrub, and fast deep water on the otherside. Finally, a bunch of fish and 7 hours later a long walk back.

All in all a great day out fishing. Next episode, I will be fishing some strange waters south of here.
