Title: Silver Lake May 13
Post by: Toprod on May 15, 2006, 04:21:16 PM
Fished Silver Lake outside of Hope on Saturday for about 4 hours in my pontoon. I tried various leeches, muddlers, and minnow patterns to no avail. Finally, I caught about a 14" rainbow on a green dragonfly nymph, followed by another slightly smaller. About an hour later as I was rowing in, my line stopped as though I was snagged. I picked up the rod and felt a couple of tugs, and after a good fight landed about a 3 lb fat bull trout. I have fished Silver many times, but this is the first time I have seen or heard of a bull trout in there. All fish were gently released, one thing I have noticed is that the pressure has dropped off considerably since this lake was made C & R.
