Post by: jettabambino on April 30, 2006, 11:04:06 PM
Hey guys... I have some out of towners that are staying with me... I was going to take them fishing to rice lake... having said this i decided by reading the current reports it sounds like Rice lake isnt the lake to be at being that is may have been stocked to recent....

so where do you recommend.... I want to stay anywhere from about 30 min from the north shore...

Thanks

Butzen lake has just been stocked recently. Try fishing of the dock first or rent a canoe. Or if you want to hike a bit walk up to the first  cliff and fish off of that.

well if you have a boat, buntzen would be your best bet. The last 3 times iv went i have hooked landed 10+ trout. Use olive wooly buggers and half backs. If you dont have a boat fish off the dock using 1/2 ounce weight, 3 foot leader, and floating power bait. This method can be very productive. Also you can fish whonnuck lake and catch trout and tons of crappy. Last year around this time me, roeman, and adanac hooked 40+
