Ya no kiddin.
One time I was playing a big fish(didn't know what it was) and my reel screwed up big time so I stupidly tryed to bring in the line with my hands, little did I know, it was a big chum. Got hardcore burns all down the middle of my hands!!!! >:( ;D ;D :'(

He told you this in a bar ? That explains everything. ;D

::) ;D lol I know it's hard to believe but I don't think he was bull$hittin me. He went on about his trips in Tofino on the kayak and how he usually just catches coho and always wondered what would happen if he got a Spring on. He told me that he wears gloves and he said he keeps the line taught with his fingers and keeps some slack line in the water in case the fish makes a run for it. I guess it could be just another fishermans tale but it was entertaining at least.

Speaking of people catching big fish outta kyacks, my dad once showed me a picture of a guy playing a big ol' sturgie!

My friend Swede Peterson owner of Annie Horge White Water Adventures does the Sturgeon thing out his white water kyack. He says it's as much fun as when he use to ride Saddle bronk back in his rodeo days.

I once seen a guy in caamano sound land a 60 pound halibut with a hand line. However during the battle the line got wrapped around his index finger and cut him right down to the bone. Needless to say we had to perform first aid on him and he still has the scar 8 years later. He was also fishing from a 10 foot skiff in 10 foot swells. That guy has some balls.
