Title: Has bass season started yet?
Post by: canadian-countrygrl on April 28, 2006, 11:22:34 AM
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum.  Had a question to ask. Does anyone know when bass fishing starts and where a good spot is?  I'm in the Vancouver/Burnaby area. I am itching to go fishing. It's been a while.

Cheers,

Usually we do a group trip to St Mary's Lake on Salt Spring Island for smallmouth bass. The smallmouth bass fishing there has already started. Steelhead King posted a report of his short (http://www.fishingwithrod.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=10457.msg97739#msg97739) outing yesterday and Keithr will be spending his entire May fishing it so we should hear some reports from him soon. The lake fishes well until early July before it gets too hot.

I didn't end up going bass fishing this weekend.  I did go to Stump lake in Squamish and caught a nice size Rainbow.

Rod, I've been up to St. Mary lake. Awesome Bass fishing there.  It's been a while. Wasn't sure when It started.

Thanks for all the info everyone.
