I know about those bass, but how about the trout? What fly patterns are likely to work. Other stuff? What parts of the lake?
-
The same stuff works-there are Cutts right along the dropoff right in front of Mark's place.
Not many of them though.

Thanks, Sam. If you happen to be in the neighborhood during May, stop by.

Keith, have you read this thread about St Mary's Lake?

Sounds like the lake has an algae bloom right now? Make sure you try some of the small lakes nearby too.
The bass fishing should still be good though. Steelhead King was just there and we should get a report within a day or two.

Thanks for the link to that thread. That's good information even if St Mary's Lake weren't in bad shape. I'll be trying those places and letting you know. . .

Just got back from the Island... Fished St Mary lake on monday, and the water is very dirty maybe about 1.5 feet of visability but still manage to get about 40 fish or so between 4 guys in around 6 hours. Size of the fish is bigger then i was expected out of the 8 fish i got, most of them are in the 2-3 pounds range.

cool thanks for the report

Any surface fly action? What worked?
-
nope not yet.. no top water action yet... hooked one on the fly but lost it... they are still pretty deep at the moment.. use lots of spinner and jig...
