got to one of my favourite fishing holes, about 45mins. away from home. Arrive to see a family sun tanning and no fisherman 8). First time fishing with dew worms this year, as i hear they have been catching well lately. About 10 casts in, the float goes down and theres a fishy on the end of my line. Quite a sluggish fish, short fight and i start to get it to shore. I then see it is a dark hatchery fish. I start getting it closer and it comes un-buttoned. no problem. About 3-4 casts after that, the float goes down again and im into a nice chrome fish. The fight was quite a bit longer. I jump down to the next row of rocks below me and try to land this thing. It then takes a few more runs trying to escape. I then reel and the fish is within' about 5 feet of me and shows itself very clearly. It is a bright chrome fish and it is, well, a hatchery buck of about 10lb.s ;D. Im thinking to myself ok, get it up onto the shore, but dont horse it in, and what do i do, i start walking back to fast and this fish to comes un-buttoned. Ok, by this time i am mad. but oh well, its just a fish. theres lots more in there im sure i can entice. After about an hours off chucking dew worms and wool, nothing wanted to bite. i then put on a size 1 silver colorado blade and start hucking it into the run.Cast after cast, not a hit. Then suddenly BAM!. Out of nowhere this huge steelie smacks my blade. It starts flashing in the water, few head shakes and gone.
Oh well, I hooked 3 steelhead, even though i didnt land one, it was a good day for some steelies on the river.

Sounds like great way to spend the afternoon there CC....Beautiful day, river all to yourself.....these are the days that stay with us long after they're gone!!!! You'll probably have daydreams of that chromer flashing on the end of your line for the next little while eh? (At least untill the next "hit") ;D
Great report!
Thx,

True dat! LoL, good point Biff... well CC if you happened to be fishing a flow that I'm familiar with (I've fished most of them regularly over the years), I'd love to hear some more details as I am stuck in "too busy to fish mode" for the next month at least...still nice to live vicariously through anothers adventures anyway! PM me if your willing...
Still a great report, wish I could get out of this jail I'm in.....
Thx,
