Title: Lafarge Lake is slow..?
Post by: Sinaran on April 17, 2006, 02:01:40 PM
been fishing this lake the past two days from the shore, didn't get nothin', not even a bite! saw some guys fishing in float tubes and caught some fish on the fly (not sure if the notorious Coho "the lafarge killer" cody was one of them).  :P  i fished from the shore with dew worm and shrimps. why didn't they like my baits? i had very good results back in Jan/Feb with the same settings.  I thought the lake was just stocked?  hm...

ahah nope wasnt me, but my buddy fishkind and master baiter. i havnt seen many people catch fish from shore in the past week or so. i was out monday, tuesday, and wednesday as i didnt hav a pile of homework. i got over 30 fish in this period on the fly in my boat. along with those fish i got some over 16inches. i was out today and got 4. it was getting too windy so i left. might go up to buntzen if i can find anybody to go with today.

heres a pic of 4 from last week

I was in a blue fishcat float on Sunday 4-6, and had many strikes, landing (and releasing) two. All of them from only one particular area - so if you saw me, you'd know where that is. I did see three shore fishermen. If you were at the south end where the trees are, that pitch is relatively shallow. I used many different fly patterns on a fast sink. The only one working for me that day was a green nymph.
