what do you mean by Berkley and Trilene? They are one and the same company, Pure Fishing and they make the following brand names of lines, Vanish, Vanish transition, Trilene Ironsilk, Trilene sensation,Trilene xl,Trilene XT, Big Game, Big Game Supreme, Big Game Hi Test, Trilene Big Cat, Stren Original, Stren Magnaflex, Stren Magnathin, Stren Extra Strenght, Stren Dura Tough, Spiderwire Super Mono XXX and last but not least Spiderwire Super Mono EZ. Most of these lines are available regionally in BC. Your post maybe should have said something along the line of the following
Maxima
Trilene all types
P-Line
Ande
Mustad all types
Charterboat
Rapala all types
other

This would represent a general list of mono line products readily available in BC.

Few years ago I got Shimano line from Europe. Still strong and better than Maxima. Too bad it's not available here. So, Maxima is the second choice.

When I was growing up in Ontario Ande was THE line for steelheading.

I fished with the pink stuff for years, loved it for light line fishing as it had lots of stretch and great abrasion resistance.   I don't like their light lines on the rivers here because the current seems to stretch it out in no time, resulting in a twisted mess.
