Recent rains have certainly helped to bump up the local river levels. I headed out to my local flow yesterday to discover the water level was up substantially from a week ago. I flogged my favourite run for 30 minutes with no result. Just as I was about to it pack it in and move, a beautiful chrome steelhead surfaced in the tailout. Naturally, I stayed and flogged it again for another 1/2 hour with roe bags, shrimps, chum roe and rubber worm. It was not to be. :(
I was back at it again bright and early this morning. Upon my arrival the river was up another foot from yesterday ??? I headed down to where I fished yesterday and already there was a guy there. He reported no action. I decided to head further downstream to try my luck. After approximately 15 minutes I spotted a steelhead moved into the tailout. A variety of bait and lures did not produced the desired result. :( After a while I headed to try another one of my favourite runs but the result with the same result.
Tomorrow is another day. If the river continues to drop it should be prime. I know the steelheads are in there, now it's a case of catching them.

"where's the beek"
Fished the "meathole" below Lickman yesterday for a couple hours just to see how the beeks do it. While taking a picture I lost my spot to the Older Beek Marcel. Two wild fish caught( :-X) by the liners. I should have taken my beek elsewhere though I did get a couple good bites.
