Title: Stolen boat
Post by: Rodney on September 11, 2004, 09:53:27 PM
Just saw this on FishBC and I thought we should all know this too:

BRAT!!! just called me from Vancouver Island and asked me to post this.

They left their boat on the side of Island Highway, south of the Malaspina College exit on Vancouver Island - 10 to 15 minutes from Duke Point. The trailer was missing a tire on the right side and from what i gather, they had left it momentarily to have it fixed. Both the trailer and boat went missing.

The boat is a 19 foot Bluewater Bow Rider. Inboard/outboard, 4.3 ltr Mercury.

It's white with green stripe down the sides.

If anybody sees it, please email BRAT!!! at flyangler@telus.net or call the Logan Lake Fly Shop at (250) 523-9711 between 9:00 and 5:00 any day.

Stolen boats are big bisuness....probably got loaded on a flat bed.

Remember hearing of a guy stealing cars with a tow truck.  He drive around the core, pick a target car, hook 'er up and drive off.

Its brutal how cocky these bastards are getting!

In regards to the first stolen boat you post Rod.. 6 days later it was recovered and the soundrels apprehanded.

Found!

Apparently these guys were pulled over on something unrelated and fishing gear was discovered in their vehicle. They were known to police and the police knew they didn't fish so upon further investigation, the boat was discovered stashed away somewhere.

It's not known what shape the boat is in but Brat!! should find out soon - they think they're going back to the Island this weekend to check it out.

I love a happy ending
