Go to the States and pick up a hand full of Pink/white " Dick-nites" size #1 ,,,,they should be absolutely outlawed cuz they are SO good......... Hands down a 40-50m fish per day lure
-
X2 on dick nites
-
Any weighted pink flies. Floating line as well.
-
Second the pink flies. It's a lure I guess.
Nice and sparse with some flash. I however use an intermediate mostly.
-
gibbs megawatt
-
My favorite in the past was always a pink and white spoon called a hot shot (I Think). It looked like the classic "red Devil" but with a soft powder pink instead of the red.
Some days, it was the only lure in the box that would entice the pinks.
-
colorado blade with the concave side painted pink.
-
Ditto with the pink jighead and grub. Deadly combination fished right along the bottom. Fairly cheap too compared to spoons which are also good lures to use.
-
in the lower fraser the small pink buzzz bomb ;D
-
colorado blade crome just because we call them pink doesnt mean they like anything pink.
-
gibbs croc cerise with clear stripe is deadly for me
-
Ford Fender with pink power bait.
-
The smallest buzzbomb with white on one side / peach on the other.
-
3rd vote for Dick Nite ............. other lures mentioned sound very inviting & interesting so may give them a try also !!! -------------------------------------- (wonder if Rod will give us his favourite ??? .... as that's the one(s) I'd definately GO WITH)
-
i have caught pinks on lots of different coloured lures & flies of a few colours. its more about the retrieve speed then anything else in the Fraser especially. ;)
-
My favorites are the ones that Fish Assassin keeps buying from me once every two years. ;D

You sell Zzingers ? ;D ;D

I'm kind of partial to the spoons that Rod sells. Relatively inexpensive and they work. First cast of the 2005 pink season...fish on...and lots more after that.
How's that for a shameless plug ;)

I will give him a plug as well. I stared buying his spinners a few years ago. I dont use anything else anymore. I have taken guys out and they see me catching fish after fish when they are struggling to get just one in the boat. Helps when you have the right retrieve as well.

Hehe thanks. ;D I prefer to use the spoons that I make for pinks while using the spinners for coho and bull trout. The only disadvantage of these spoons that I can think of is they are just a bit too thin and wide for distance casting, other than that they have been very good to me. :)

What size do you recommend? I have only seen really small ones.

ive used only pink flies on the island but am looking forward to hucking some metal now that im living down on the Fraser.
slightly off topic question if someone wouldnt mind...what kind of set up is best when casting spoons?...still using float / weight like drift fishing or does the spoon offer enough weight on its own?
Thanks!
-
You can tie the spoon directly to your main line. I prefer to use a leader.
-
gracias

I'll second pink zingers
