I was about to book family lodging for Labour Day weekend on the Campbell River, the idea being to have fun with the kids fishing the pinks. But I just read that it's EVEN years for East VI rivers. Is that correct? So no pink run in the Campbell this year?

I live south of there near nanaimo and we have pinks every year.  I dont think even years a quite as strong but there is still lots both years. I would phone or email someone from the area. You could probaly call a local tackle shop for help.

No, there should be pinks in the Campbell River this year.... North part of island is even year, while south part is odd year.... but some rivers like Campbell River will have a return every year.... Correct me if I am wrong please.

I recall fishing there during an odd year (2001) and catching pinks in late July, early August.

How about catching them from the ocean too during that time, those fish that are on their way back here will pass through there, fantastic as every cast will have about twenty pinks chasing your lure.
