Hi,
I recently bought some water hardened eggs to make up some spawn sacs and was wondering if anyone has any ideas for adding scent to them? I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of trying to coat them in either some kind of gel or oils. Maybe leave to marinate in something like Pautze's Nectar.
What does the forum think and has anyone had any success with this. Mainly fishing for coho at the moment.

Anise oil

I have good success by using both type of spawn sacs but mostly using scented spawn sacs when less visibility.

I'm wondering, what's the shelf life of water hardened eggs under referigeration?, and can you freeze them...

I usually finish a batch in a month time under refrigeration but never freeze it.

Months. I've never froze them I don't fish sacs often but I had the same tub from december on for steel. Still looked good last time I used them.

I have used water hardened eggs that have sat in my fridge for well over a year. I usually store them in an air tight glass jar.

they will keep in a salt water brine refrigerated for years
