Lafarge Lake

How is Lafarge lake doing lately? any fish being caught? IF so, how large? Thanks. ;D

Getting fewer and smaller lately. Even with the second stocking, seems like it's fished out. Even the orange koy has disappeared! Would be interested to hear from those that are flyfishing from their belly-boats.

I've heard very decent reports here at the shop. Most guys that have good success go in the early morning and evening. Good old powerbait is your best bet, but if you wanna chuck thet fly for a bit a green micro leech is the pattern of choice.

Sasamat lake is a pretty nice lake to fish ... as long as there aren't people swimming around and jumping in from the floating bridge. Best time is either early in the morning or in the evening. You can simply use a float with a #4-6 hook set at about 6-12ft below surface. Cocktail shrimp work pretty well at most times, or you can try a worm with a single egg (to give it some scent). Small spinners also work surprisingly well (check out Rodney's page on how to make your own spinners).

Both Sasamat and Buntzen were stocked near the end of April so expect fishing to be fair, but not bad. Buntzen is a bigger lake so maybe Sasamat is a better choice, but be prepared to fish with the crowd on the floating dock.

Access at Lafarge would be easier but it has more of an urban setting.
