« on: April 18, 2013, 09:11:21 PM »

Watershed Watch Salmon Society and the Steelhead Society of BC are proud to host a film screening of Twyla Roscovich's film "Salmon Confidential", a documentary which follows Alex Morton's quest to protect Wild Salmon. Please come out and become educated about the threats to our wild salmon stocks from the practices of salmon farming on our coast. Admission is free, but donations on behalf of wild steelhead and salmon will be appreciated.

Date: Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 7:00 pm
Location: Tom Kozar Education Centre, BC Government and Service Employees Union, 4911 Canada Way, Burnaby, BC

I hope lots of people show up for the screening. It's a terrific film, and I admit by the time I'd watched to the end, I was just about shaking with rage at the companies and our own governments that have allowed this to happen. I HIGHLY recommend everybody take the hour and a bit required to watch the video, which is also available here:

Although it's a horrible story it tells, the photography is gorgeous -- and just reinforces how much we in British Columbia have to lose if we don't collectively wake up and do the right thing. I also encourage folks on this forum to send the video link to others they know. It deserves to go viral (an ironic expression, given that this is about fish farms and disease!).

And the other day I put up the wrong link. Here's the page that will lead you to the film:

http://alexandramorton.typepad.com/alexandra_morton/2013/03/salmon-confidential.html

When you get to that page, just click on the phrase "TO VIEW FILM CLICK HERE"

Don't miss it!
