CAMPBELL RIVER - A Campbell River man has been fined $1,800 and forfeited his fishing vessel after pleading guilty to nine charges of illegally selling prawns, halibut and cod.
Gerald Paquin fished under the authority of aboriginal communal fishing licences that did not authorize the sale of fish, according to Fisheries and Oceans Canada, which conducted the investigation.
As well as forfeiting his commercial-sized boat with its twin 150 horsepower engines, Paquin also forfeited 105 prawn traps and ground gear worth an estimated $36,200.

That is good news. Now time to do the same for those involved in illegal sales of salmon.

One down and how many other FN to go. Hope they take all their boats. Oh not that right, this guy was just a bad apple and no other FN sell fish. FN rights are for the past, enough with the BS and have them get a real job instead of raping the land and the water..
