Title: Trying to figure out slack tide times under First Narrows (Lions Gate)
Post by: dennisK on April 21, 2015, 06:40:38 AM
Hey all.

My friend has a boat (new boater) and we're just trying to get some basic info on how to figure out the slack tide around the Lions gate bridge.

Is it as easy as it looks on this link:

So slack times would be around 8:30 am and again about 4 hrs later at 12:20pm?

Thanks

You can see the actual tide times if you select the "Other Tide Stations" at the bottom left part of the page.

The slack should follow right behind the high or low tide so it looks accurate.

Additionally you can use the Gov't website with tide information. For Vancouver, use this link: http://www.tides.gc.ca/eng/station?sid=7735 (http://www.tides.gc.ca/eng/station?sid=7735)

I always use the DFO website to check out the tides when planning a trip. For First Narrows, you may want to check specifically either Point Atkinson or Vancouver Harbour.
