Proper way to "Finish" them - Yes.

Harden? NO!

Run COLD water (from the river best, but tap water will do) for several hours BEFORE Brining!
Some will turn white, No Worries, they change back upon brining.
Turns them into little Rubber Ball Bearings that if Bounced, WILL come back to take out your eye!  ;)

Has anyone made a box or cup or something specifically designed for hardening your roe on the river while your still fishing? Seems something like a bait cup for crap traps with some cheese cloth in them would do wonders...?

just go to the dollar store and buy a pair of panty hose or stocking...easy to store and use as needed.

I just use a zip lock…funnel the eggs in, rinse off the blood, fill with river water…and wait.
