Ah, perfect - the joys of being a minor!

Yes, no license is required for freshwater, but she will need a license and tag (both free) if she wants to fish tidal waters (Cates Park, mouth of Seymour, tidal Fraser etc.).
-
Tag is not free in salt water.
-
ya your licence is free but the tag cost 7.00

You may sport fish without any licence or stamp (but must abide by the regulations) if you are under 16 and a resident of BC.

Thanks Rodney, good to know for when my 5 year really gets interested in it. So far he's really interested for about 10 minutes and then needs to do something else. This goes for fishing and watching a Canucks game live!

Sorry, that's right, the tag is not free but you only need it if you want to keep her fish.

My son is 15 and he is quite tall for his age. So what have done was I photo-copy his birth certificate and have him carry in his fishing vest. This is for non tidal water only.
