I don't feel sorry for the owners and definitely not the players....it's the behind the scene joe, making 40-50k a year that's going to get wiped out. My thoughts are with them.

Gary Bettman: It's the players' union.

NHLPA:  It's the owners

My boss just offered me 4 million per year.  I turned him down and told him that I didn't think it would be good for the corporation ::)

It's the owners fault.

I think they both share the blame, but I point the finger more at the owners.  If some of them are stupid enough to set the bar so high as to pay a player 7,8,9, or 10 million a season, why wouldn't the rest of the players hold out for that much?  Most of this "crisis" for the owners is their own making, I think.

Well, that my 2 cents worth, but if anyone's willing to pay me more for my opinions, ..... ;D

Love to see teams such as the Rangers who try to buy a winner fall flat on their collective faces.

They have to buy into the playoffs first  ;D.  At least the Yankees make it into the playoffs every year.

You're correct.  Some owners.  NYR, NYI, St.L, Det,Ottawa,Colorado (had to match NYR).  I guess I'll spend my money on fishin' gear ;D

question??
If the players all negotiate their own contracts then why the heck do they need a union!  When teachers some doctors etc make crap why should a hockey player make millions!  Its a joke and a sick comment about our society! Sorry for ranting!

With out the union, the average sallary would only be 1.2 million.  How do you expect them to live on that?  You sit up there in Merritt and bad mouth these guys.  Look what you've got.  Mountains, lakes, rivers, FRESH AIR, and the Coldwater Inn. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
